The snow season typically runs from  June to October, depending on snow conditions.

The snow at Mount Lyford is real. It receives natural snowfall during the winter months, providing genuine snow conditions for skiing, snowboarding, and other winter activities.

Access is by road. You can drive north from Christchurch and south from the coastal town of Kaikoura. Another option is to take a shuttle bus from Lyford Lodge to reach the ski field.
