Las Araucarias

Araucanía

Las Araucarias is located at the base of the Llaima volcano, The Araucarias presents a ski center brimming with ten distinct slopes catering to a range of skill levels across approximately 15 kilometers of terrain. It stands as a welcoming destination for beginners and children, with more than half of the slopes designed for ease of navigation. The resort boasts a total of four lifts, encompassing three T-bar lifts and a singular chairlift. Moreover, visitors have access to ski rental services and a ski school complemented by a practice lift within the vicinity. A remarkable aspect of the Llaima volcano lies in its distinction as one of Chile's most active, rendering a unique backdrop to The Araucarias. The surrounding environment is integral to the Conguillío National Park and is known as "Los Paraguas" due to the resemblance of its numerous Araucaria trees to umbrellas. These iconic trees greet visitors in the ski area's valley, while the slopes themselves reside above the tree line. The valley stations of Araucarias are adorned with an array of hotels, restaurants, and cafes to cater to various needs. Furthermore, a small medical facility is available to attend to any unforeseen accidents.
