Lake Louise - Snow cams

Located in the majestic Banff National Park Lake Louise Alberta is 57 km from the town of Banff Canada (about 40 minutes by road), and 180km west of Calgary.

The ski/ snowboarding season at Lake Louise typically runs from November to May, offering an extended skiing and snowboarding window. The resort’s official website provides accurate opening and closing dates.

The snow is real in Lake Louise and receives ample snowfall during the winter season.

Additionally, the resort does use snowmaking machines to enhance snow coverage by adding 48 energy-efficient snow guns plus kilometers of underground pipe. The resort’s state-of-the-art system can quickly create durable and consistent snow surfaces allowing us to open terrain faster, fill in unwanted features, build epic terrain parks, and stay open longer.

Lake Louise is accessible by car or shuttle services from the town of Banff, which serves as the gateway to Banff National Park. Calgary International Airport is the nearest major airport, and it’s about a 2-hour drive from there to Lake Louise.

Lake Louise has ski rental shops where you can rent ski and snowboard equipment. The resort also offers ski schools and instructors for lessons, catering to beginners and those looking to improve their skills.

The Lake Louise Daycare is a licensed childcare facility that is staffed by dedicated and attentive individuals with a passion for working with children. Kids are grouped into two separate playrooms: infants to 3 years old, and 3 years old to children pre-grade one (typically 5 or 6 years old). The daycare’s daily program is structured around the Alberta Early Learning and Child Care Curriculum Framework, emphasizing Play, Participation, and Possibilities. Operating from Monday to Friday,  the daycare is closed on weekends and public holidays. Find out more
