The Sun Peaks resort is located in the British Columbia Interior only 58km (a 45-minute drive) northeast of the town of Kamloops. Sun Peaks is 409km northeast of Vancouver British Columbia, a 4.5-hour drive.

The ski/ snowboarding season at Sun Peaks typically runs from November to April. The resort’s official website provides accurate opening and closing dates.

The snow is real in Sun Peaks Resort and benefits from natural snowfall, the resort also utilizes snowmaking technology to ensure consistent conditions. The majority of the resort snowmaking system is gravity fed from on-mountain storage. This means that water is not pumped up the hill in order to make snow, which is a major energy savings. The only exception to this is our International Race Training Centre which requires supplemental snowmaking efforts.

Sun Peaks is approximately a 45-minute drive from Kamloops, which has an airport with flight connections to major Canadian cities. It’s also accessible by car or shuttle services.

Sundance Kids’ Centre is located at the base of the Sunburst Express chairlift at Sun Peaks Resort. Each day at the Sundance Kids Centre is unique, exciting, and filled with fun activities for children. It is open from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm daily, year-round, and caters to children ages 18 months to 5 years old. For short-term daycare, children can be accommodated for up to 8 hours per day or a maximum of 40 hours within a 30-day timeframe. In the case of long-term daycare, there’s no monthly hour limit.

Reservations are managed on a first-come, first-served basis, and advance booking is recommended to secure your spot. The reservation process and policies remain consistent for both short and long-term options. Find out more
