Antillanca

Los Lagos

Antillanca is a small ski area in the Puyehue National Park, Los Lagos Region, in southern Chile. The nearest city is Osorno, 98 kilometers away. Antillanca gets its name from the Mapudungun "antü llangka", which means "pearl of the sun" and like other neighboring ski resorts ,it finds its home on a volcano—the Casablanca Volcano. Skiing on an active volcano adds an intriguing element of fascination, especially considering the nearby Puyehue Volcano's notorious eruption in 2011, which halted air traffic in the southern hemisphere due to the Cordón Caulle fissure eruption. Unlike the bustling ski resorts around Santiago, Antillanca Ski Center offers a more serene and off-the-beaten-track experience. This tranquility allows visitors to immerse themselves in the authentic rural Chilean culture. Backcountry skiers and snowboarders are particularly drawn to the resort not only for its excellent terrain but also for the sense of peace it provides.
