La Clusaz

Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes

La Clusaz ski resort is situated in the Bornes Aravis region within Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Savoie Mont Blanc and Haute-Savoie boasts 125 km of slopes. A network of 49 lifts efficiently transports guests throughout the resort, with elevations ranging from 1,050 to 2,485 meters, ensuring a diverse and exhilarating mountain experience. While the ski slopes are particularly well-suited for intermediates, La Clusaz is swiftly gaining recognition as a prominent player in the freeriding scene. The resort offers something for all skill levels, from beginner-friendly nursery slopes to exhilarating freeriding adventures, compensating for the limited number of advanced/expert slopes. La Clusaz is rapidly emerging as a significant presence in European freeriding, showcasing five interconnected sectors that provide expansive skiing opportunities, including engaging off-piste sections set against the breathtaking Massif de Balme and Massif de L’Aiguille. With one of the most significant vertical drops, La Clusaz boasts over 1500m of altitude to ski from the summit of Balme to the village. A convenient shuttle bus service links La Clusaz to Le Grand Bornand, and with a Massif des Aravis ski pass, visitors can access an impressive 220km of slopes. Despite a few slower, older chair lifts and drag lifts, La Clusaz proudly features the world's first Telemix lift, seamlessly combining chairs and gondolas. The ski culture in La Clusaz has evolved around its traditional mountain village ambiance, complete with a charming square and a Savoyard church. The village comes alive with a vibrant outdoor market every Monday in La Place de l’Eglise, offering local produce. Surrounding the square, lively streets host tasteful shops, bars, and hotels, contributing to the village's bustling atmosphere.
