Les Arcs is situated in the Tarentaise Valley in the Savoie region of the French Alps. It is perched above the town of Bourg St Maurice. The closest major airports to Les Arcs are Lyon (LYS) and Geneva (GVA). From these airports, you can take a train to Bourg St Maurice and then use a funicular or bus to reach Les Arcs.

The ski and snowboarding season in Les Arcs typically runs from mid-December to late April. However, the exact opening and closing dates of the season can vary from year to year depending on snow conditions

The snow in Les Arcs is real. Les Arcs is a high-altitude ski resort located in the French Alps, which means it benefits from a reliable and abundant supply of natural snow during the winter months. The resort’s altitude ranges from approximately 1,200 meters to 3,226 meters, with many of its ski slopes located at elevations where snowfall is consistent and temperatures are cold enough for snow to accumulate.

In addition to natural snow, Les Arcs also has snowmaking equipment in place on some of its lower slopes to ensure adequate snow coverage, especially at the beginning and end of the ski season. This technology allows the resort to enhance the skiing experience and maintain good conditions even when natural snowfall is limited.

Les Arcs is well-located for exploring other nearby ski resorts, including La Plagne and Peisey Vallandry, which are part of the Paradiski area.
