Treble Cone, the largest ski area in New Zealand’s South Island, is famous for its long, uncrowded groomed runs, legendary off-piste terrain, and unrivaled views over Lake Wanaka and the Southern Alps. Located just a 35-minute scenic drive from Wanaka and a 90-minute drive from Queenstown via the Crown Range road.

It typically runs from late June to early October, depending on snow conditions.

The snow at Treble Cone is real. It receives an average snowfall of 5.5 meters annually, providing genuine snow conditions for skiing, snowboarding, and other winter activities.

Access to Treble Cone is by road. It’s approximately a 35-minute drive from Wanaka and about 90 minutes from Queenstown. Shuttle bus services may be available from Wanaka during the ski season. Find out more.

Treble Cone does not offer creche-style childcare facilities for babies and infants, but ski and snowboard lessons are available for children aged 5 and above.

Ride Tribe TC is Treble Cone’s dedicated children’s program, operating on the same six Sundays as Ride Tribe Cardrona and the Cardrona Academy. For maximum enjoyment, children who are intermediate or advanced and can confidently navigate the mountain with their peers will have a blast in this program. However, recognizing the diverse skill levels within passionate TC families, Ride Tribe TC ensures that children of all ages and proficiency levels are well taken care of and included.
