Zermatt is in the German-speaking upper region of Canton Wallis (Valais), southwest Switzerland, close to the Italian border. The closest international airports are Geneva (GVA) which is a 2.5-hour drive & Zurich (ZRH) which takes a 3.5-hour drive.

The ski/ snowboarding season in Zermatt typically runs from late November to late April, thanks to its high-altitude location and advanced snowmaking capabilities.

Additionally, the ski resort is well-equipped with over 1000 snow cannons for artificial snow production, ensuring ideal conditions are maintained across the entire resort during the winter season.

You can get to Zermatt via train ride, taxi, or helicopter. Zermatt is car-free, so if you come by road you have to leave your car at one of the parking facilities in Täsch. From there, Zermatt is 12 minutes away by train. Or you can arrive in comfort by taxi.
