Mt. Hood Meadows

The ski resort Mt. Hood Meadows is located just 67 miles from Portland. The resort provides an extensive mountain experience that would typically require much more travel. Positioned on Mt. Hood's southeast flank, the sunny side of the mountain, Meadows' terrain caters to and challenges skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels. The Cascade Express provides sweeping views of the Cascade Range from its 7,300-foot elevation, while advanced enthusiasts explore steep front bowls and the seemingly endless slopes of powder-filled Heather Canyon. Access gates open up opportunities for double black trails, gladed tree runs, and cliffs in Private Reserve and S&R Cliffs. Hikers can add an extra 1,700 vertical feet by dropping into the double blacks of Super Bowl above Heather, creating a nearly 4,500-foot vertical limit in one run. Beginners find gentle slopes in Buttercup and the Ballroom Carpet. Meadows is renowned for having some of the best terrain in the Northwest. Maintaining optimal surface conditions is ensured by Meadows' advanced fleet of grooming machines. The resort boasts up to six terrain parks, including an in-ground Half Pipe, all meticulously designed and maintained by a creative crew. Meadows has played a pivotal role in introducing skiing and snowboarding to more Oregonians than any other ski resort. Featuring a separate "fun zone" with on-the-snow conveyors, beginners quickly learn techniques and enjoy the sport.
