North Island: Expect mostly cloudy conditions over the Raukumara to Kaweka ranges, as well as the Tararua Range, particularly noticeable on the southern and eastern slopes. For the remaining mountain regions in the North Island, anticipate predominantly clear skies, except a few clouds around Egmont National Park. WINDS: Gentle breezes.

South Island: The Kaikoura ranges and the Southern Alps are forecasted to have fine weather. In Kahurangi, Nelson Lakes, and Paparoa National Parks, expect areas of cloud cover. Mount Aspiring and Fiordland will experience mostly cloudy conditions with intermittent light rain. WINDS: Generally light, except for northwesterly to the south of Mount Cook, and notably strong winds around Fiordland, which will ease by tomorrow morning.

North Island: Expect the formation of scattered showers, primarily in the eastern regions, which will gradually subside later. WINDS: Gentle breezes.

South Island: Clouds will increase in the western areas, accompanied by a few scattered showers. Snowfall will lower to 1600 meters in the southern regions later. The Kaikoura ranges are expected to remain mostly clear. WINDS: Predominantly light winds, although strong northwesterly will develop around Fiordland.

26 Aug

North Island: Expect cloudy intervals along with isolated showers. WINDS: Westerly winds will develop.

South Island: Anticipate episodes of rain or showers in the western regions, potentially accompanied by heavy precipitation. The snow level will drop to 800 meters in the southern areas later. The Kaikoura ranges are projected to experience mostly clear conditions. WINDS: Northwesterly winds will extend across other areas. Subsequently, a shift to southwesterly winds will occur around Fiordland and Mt Aspiring National Parks later.

27 Aug
North Island: Cloud cover will intensify in the western areas, leading to the development of scattered showers. However, conditions are expected to remain mainly clear from Kaweka Forest Park northwards. WINDS: Westerly winds will gain strength.

South Island: Rainfall will advance northwards, transitioning into showers and gradually subsiding. There will be a shift to snowfall, particularly in the southern regions. WINDS: Strong to gale-force southwesterly winds will extend across the region, gradually easing later.
